A Game Plan for Today
You need a game plan for your day, and for your week. Otherwise you'll allocate your time according to whatever information happens to land on your desk or whatever communications begs for your attention. As such, other people's actions will determine your priorities. And you will find yourself making the fatal mistake of dealing primarily with problems rather than opportunities. Way Too Many TVs
NEW YORK (AP) -- The average American home now has more television sets than people. That threshold was crossed within the past two years, according to Nielsen Media Research. There are 2.73 TV sets in the typical home and 2.55 people, the researchers said. Half of American homes have three or more TVs, and only 19 percent have just one, Nielsen said. In 1975, 57 percent of homes had only a single set and 11 percent had three or more, the company said. Labels: American culture, family life, media, technology, television, TV

Too Much Info while Driving!
Does this make sense or what? California will become the fourth state in the country to ban motorists from holding cellphones while driving under legislation Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced he will sign into law today. It has long been proven that cell phone use demands three different levels of attention: aural, visual and mental, and thus is different than listening to the radio or even speaking with passengers. Too Much Catalog Information
In this age of high-speed Internet connections, catalog companies in the U.S. annually mail more than 19 billion catalogs, consuming nearly four million tons of paper. The quality as well as availability of recycled paper has improved, but the majority of catalogers, among them J. Crew, J.C. Penney, and L.L. Bean, still use only virgin paper. What a waste, for everyone and everything. Labels: advertising, catalogs, environment, junk mail, marketing, recycling, waste
